First Steps

“When I was pregnant, I felt I didn’t have anybody to lean on. I was so lucky to have a nurse like her.”

 Shanice, 17-year-old first-time mom

Independent Full-Time Employed Mother

NFP Nurse Home Visitor Karen’s client was 26-years old when she became pregnant and joined the Nurse-Family Partnership program. After working with Karen, the mother has a more positive, energetic outlook on her pregnancy and talks about the type of mother she wants to be. The mother delivered a healthy baby girl who is now nine-months old. She is now working full-time, has her own apartment, and has built a supportive group of family and friends. The father of the child still spends time with his daughter, who is happy, active, and developmentally on-track.
